Born in Riga in 1949. Since 1975, after graduating from the Department of Ceramics and Glass, LVHPU im. V. I. Mukhina, works at the Imperial Porcelain Factory. Porcelain painter, sculptor. From 1998 to 2009 - the main artist of the plant. Since 1981, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Member of many international and domestic exhibitions, including exhibitions in the SE "Four Views on Porcelain". Trained at the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory in Germany. She was repeatedly awarded with diplomas of the Union of Artists for her achievements in creativity and for promoting the development of Russian fine art. Winner of the 1982 Leningrad Komsomol Prize. She was awarded the diplomas of the Government of St. Petersburg in 1994 and 2004. In 2002 she was awarded the Silver Medal of the Academy of Arts of Russia. Neli Petrova’s works are in the collections of the State Hermitage, the State Russian Museum, the Historical Museum, the Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts, the Museum of Ceramics and Glass “Kuskovo Estate of the 18th Century”, the Tsaritsyno Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Fine Arts in Kemerovo and numerous private collections.
